Roasted Breadfruit Smokehouse was born from the vision of a proud family from the island of Dominica, Commonwealth of Dominica and not the Dominican Republic. Our head chef has spent 12 years mastering his craft, drawing on rich Caribbean traditions and the bold flavors he perfected during his years cooking in Texas.
In early 2023, his sister had the idea to bring something new to New Jersey. A true Caribbean smokehouse that blended island authenticity with Texas-style technique. After moving to Morris County and realizing there were no truly authentic Caribbean flavors in the area, they decided it was time to change that.
Together, they brought this dream to life, creating a place where slow-smoked meats, island spices, and family heritage come together in every dish. Roasted Breadfruit Smokehouse isn’t just food — it’s culture, passion, and home on a plate.

Our journey began on the beautiful island of Dominica, where our Chef and Owner first learned the art of cooking. After moving to the U.S., the Chef fell in love with the tradition of American BBQ, and the idea of combining these two culinary worlds was born. Inspired by the aromatic rubs, sauces, and spices of both regions, our Chef began crafting unique pairings that would bring out the best of each.
